I found a great article on LDS Church News about how following the church’s financial counsel, can put us in a situation where we are independently wealthy enough to consecrate all of our time to good purposes. It doesn’t mean we’ll be “rich” in other’s eyes, but we’ll be free and able to serve as we want.
